Alejandro Silva was raised in Mexico and lived in Alabama for 13 years where he earned his Master of Public Health Administration degree from the University of South Alabama. He moved to the Mile High City in 2014 to pursue a career which allows him to advocate for underrepresented Latino interests.
Alejandro was a founding member of the Sustainability Council at the University of South Alabama and advocated for environmental consciousness through educational initiatives across the campus. His educational advocacy also expanded to the BamaCovered team where he served as a connector. His role on this team focused primarily on educating the public about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and its online healthcare marketplaces. His primary goal was to ensure people understood their options and were able to make an informed decision about their healthcare coverage.
